Kikusui Koi for Sale

Kikusui are a Doitsu metallic koi with a platinum base and orange or yellow markings. They're a scaleless version of the Hariwake, and the combination of shine and bold colour makes them stand out in any pond. They catch the light well and have a clean, modern look.

The scaleless finish means there's nowhere to hide, so selection is tight. We prioritise koi where the metallic base is even and uninterrupted across the full body, with no dull patches breaking the shine.

The orange or yellow pattern is assessed for strength and placement. It needs to sit clearly against the platinum base without bleeding or fading. Poor colour stability in Kikusui becomes very obvious over time, so only fish with stable, defined markings are included.

Pattern balance is considered across the full body, with preference given to koi where the colour flows naturally rather than appearing clustered or uneven.

Body shape is selected to support the finish, ensuring the koi maintains proportion as it develops.
